Derby Ward is the largest geographical ward in Ormskirk.
It covers the eastern side of the town, from Westhead Village to the Ormskirk-Liverpool/Preston railway line, which acts as the boundary at its western point.
In the north, it goes as far as the top of Mill Dam Lane and in the South, coming in from Bickerstaffe, begins just after the Water Tower.
Its vast area means Derby Ward is home to some of West Lancashire’s best known buildings and landmarks, such as Ormskirk Hospital, Edge Hill University, Ormskirk Cricket Club, Tower Hill Water Tower and the old Hettinga House.
